Travis Kelce recently opened up about the origins of his romance with Taylor Swift, debunking the notion that it began at a publicized football game. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34, disclosed on “The Pat McAfee Show” that their connection had already been established for nearly a month before Swift’s debut at his game against the Chicago Bears on September 24, 2023.
Contrary to the popular narrative, Kelce’s public invitation for Swift to join him at Arrowhead Stadium wasn’t a spontaneous gesture. He had already extended the invitation privately, with the knowledge that the pop sensation would attend. The three-time Pro Bowler clarified, “It wasn’t just an out-of-the-blue, ‘Hey, come to the game.’”
Since that pivotal game, Swift has become a consistent supporter of the Chiefs, attending 12 of Kelce’s matches. Reflecting on the past year, Kelce expressed his delight at having Swift by his side during games, sharing the experience with family and friends. He described the unexpected turn of events as a “crazy ride” and emphasized the enjoyment he’s derived from the relationship.
